Camping at State Parks
Your alarm clock could be a loon or a lighthouse fog horn when camping at a Maine state park. A dozen parks throughout the state offer camping close to hiking trails, beaches, and exciting downtowns.
Settings range from a 70-acre ocean island accessed by private boat, to the largest lake contained in New England. Campgrounds have sites for tents, small trailers and large motor homes.
Amenities include hot showers and wheelchair accessible wash rooms, dumping stations, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, group campsites, boat launches and firewood for sale.
Camping reservations can be made online, by calling the Bureau of Parks and Lands campground reservations call center, or by postal mail.
