Winter Festivals in February
2011 Winter
There's fun for all ages at community winter festivals during the month of February. The Naples Winter Carnival happens Feb. 11-13 with an ice fishing derby, snowmobile radar runs, helicopter rides and sno coach rides. Skowhegan's Winter Carnival features games for children, face painting and snowshoeing on Feb 6. The Brewer Winterfest offers ice carving demonstrations, a skating and sliding party, live music, a chili and chowder cook-off and fireworks over the Penobscot River Feb. 18-19. Sled down Old Orchard Street to the beach Feb. 25-26 at the Old Orchard Beach Winter Carnival where there will also be horse drawn carriage rides, snowmobile rides and a human dog sled race. Greenville packs a ton into its free Family Fun Day Feb. 24 with wagon rides, a children's parade, live entertainment and fireworks over Moosehead Lake.
