Trails blazed by snowmobiles and alpine skiers are fun to follow during winter in Maine, but public recreation trails that are popular during warmer months are also great for exploring when there is snow on the ground. Land trust properties, nature centers, farms, state parks and community recreation trails offer ocean, forest and mountainside settings.
