Moose Watching
Maine is lucky enough to be one of only a few states in the U.S. and the only eastern state to have a sizeable moose population. For many visitors, catching a glimpse of the majestic Maine moose is a once in a lifetime experience. Moose can be found throughout the state but the population density is greatest in Maine's inland regions.
The best time to spot moose is at dusk and dawn from mid-May through July and again in the fall during their breeding season. They can often be spotted along roadsides and in wet boggy areas.
