Cape Neddick Beach

Also known as Passaconaway Beach, this small sandy beach area near the mouth of Cape Neddick Harbor is popular with local residents. Low tide here is a great time to explore, when the sand, rocks and tidal pools are revealed by the receding ocean waters. There is very limited parking is available along the road bordering the beach, and there are no restrooms or other facilities.

Hop on the trolley system of the Shoreline Explorer and take in the sights, shopping and restaurants along the coast from York Harbor to Kennebunkport. Nearby Cape Neddick (“Nubble”) Light has watched over the entrance to York Harbor since 1879; a good vantage point to view the light is from Sohier Park in York Beach, where there is free parking. The whole family will enjoy a visit to York’s Wild Kingdom, the largest zoo and amusement park in the area. Take a scenic drive up the auto road on Mt. Agamenticus for panoramic views of the southern Maine hills and coast.
