Mt. Blue State Park - Webb Beach
Enjoy the sun and sand from the beach on the southwestern edge of Webb Lake and take in the spectacular views of iconic Mt. Blue rising above the far shore amid a jumble of mountains. Take a refreshing swim in the clear lake waters. The grassy promenade along the beach is perfect for a picnic, with plenty of tables and grills. Two lakeside shelters are available for use by large groups. Changing rooms and restroom are located in the woods between the beach and parking area. A trailered boat launch is found at the head of Webb Beach. The scenic lake is ideal for hours of boating, fishing, canoeing and kayaking fun. Pets are not allowed on state park beaches, but are welcome on leash elsewhere.
Families will enjoy the park’s nature center and its interactive displays and exhibits. Naturalist led activities are offered throughout the summer. Several miles of nature trails are great opportunities to take a walk with the kids and watch for moose and a host of other animal and bird life. Mountain hikers and horseback riders can take to the wooded trails, while road bikers can pedal the quiet paved roads.
Mt. Blue State Park boasts a large campground with 136 well-spaced sites for tenting, camper trailers and RVs. Each has a table and campfire ring. Hot showers are available, and restrooms with flush toilets and drinking water faucets are located throughout the campground. A playground will keep the kids busy, and evening ranger programs will entertain the whole family.
The Center Hill area of the park is a short drive from Lake Webb. Here visitors can enjoy picnicking and a mile-long nature trail; both sporting amazing scenic vistas. ATV riders can ride the extensive network of multiple use trails. Hikers will want to tackle the heights of Mt. Blue, the pyramid-shaped 3,187-foot peak that dominates the landscape. A 1.6-mile trail of moderate difficulty leads to the open summit. Nearby Tumbledown, Big and Little Jackson, Bald and Blueberry Mountains offer miles of additional hiking trails.
Mt. Blue State Park is open year round.
