Eagle Lake Public Reserved Land

Many Maine sporting camps have been in the same family for generations – and they often host families that have been coming to the remote camps for generations, too! The sporting camp located within Eagle Lake Public Reserved Land has hosted outdoor enthusiasts who arrive by four-wheel drive, boat, snowmobile, and float plane for decades. This 23,000-acre public land in northern Maine’s Aroostook County Region features world-class salmon fishing in late spring and trophy bear hunting in late summer. Come autumn, it’s the season for moose, goose, and duck hunting. And by winter’s first snowfall, the heartiest of travelers are planning their routes in for snowmobiling and ice fishing.

Eagle Lake Public Reserved Land is about more than hunting and fishing, though. And canoeing and kayaking on the 20-mile-long Eagle Lake are perfect activities for a relaxing afternoon. In the evening, up the competition level a bit with a game of horseshoes. Hiking in these wonderful Maine woods of spruce and pine provides another diversion for those seeking an escape to nature.
