Bradbury Mountain State Park

One of Maine’s original five state parks, Bradbury Mountain State Park is a quiet place to enjoy a relaxing day or afternoon exploring some of its 800 acres of forested land. A wooded loop lifts you up to the summit of a lone mountain where you can take in a magnificent view from the park’s most distinguished natural feature: Bradbury Mountain. Sculpted by a glacier, the mountain boasts wide, flat, rolling paths, as well as some narrow, steep, and more technical trails. All come with wondrous vistas that draw hikers of all levels.

Among Maine's many hiking trails, Bradbury Mountain is one of three state parks noted for its mountain hikes. Trekkers find the trails expertly maintained by knowledgeable staff eager to answer questions about the area. Mountain biking is another popular pastime in Bradbury Mountain State Park with a variety of trails including single track riding.

And questions abound when the forest’s inhabitants and vegetation come alive after a long winter’s nap! Come watch migrating hawks and eagles ride the thermals, or marvel at the autumn foliage from the mountain’s summit.

Bradbury Mountain State Park doesn’t hibernate when temperatures drop, offering shared-use trails open to snowmobilers. Whether snowshoes or hiking boots are your footgear of choice, include Bradbury Mountain State Park as one of your Maine hiking destinations.
