Crescent Beach State Park

Any legitimate Maine getaway must include a visit to the southern coast of the state—specifically Crescent Beach State Park. Situated in the affluent coastal community of Cape Elizabeth, Crescent Beach draws visitors from miles around. The mile-long crescent-shaped beach is perfect for soaking up some rays or taking a long stroll in the surf.

Crescent Beach State Park is an ideal day-use park where you can go to cool down in the water during warm summer days. After you set up camp for the day on the soft sandy shore of Crescent Beach, you’ll find the waters pleasantly calm and inviting. Small waves make walking and swimming a breeze. A series of captivating sand dunes and wandering trails make Crescent Beach State Park a great place for a leisurely walk to view wildlife and do a little birdwatching.

Families can get their meal at the snackbar or pack a picnic and use the picnic tables and grills. There's a children's playground and a bathhouse with cold showers to rinse the kids off after a day of building sandcastles on the beach. Crescent Beach State Park is open Between Memorial Day and Columbus Day.
