When you visit Lake St. George State Park and settle in at this relaxing Maine campground, the vision becomes reality. The island-studded lake that is the focal point of the park can be a haven of serenity or a fun-packed playground offering swimming and fishing in its spring-fed waters.

Located 25 miles east of Augusta on the northwest shore of refreshing Lake St. George, the park welcomes a variety of visitors. The eerie cry of the loons frequently fills the night air, reminding us that nature is hauntingly beautiful. And a Maine campground is the perfect setting for such a reminder.

The park’s 360 acres with rocky shoreline, large pines and spruce trees is primed for year-round recreation. With 38 RV sites – some available lakeside – visitors may stay up to 14 days to enjoy Lake St. George State Park’s many amenities. It is also a good place to use as a base camp if you want to enjoy hiking at other locations in the Midcoast region, such as Ducktrap Harbor or Leo’s Trail.
