Mt. Blue State Park

Mt. Blue State Park in the Western Mountains Region of Maine is really two parks in one. The 5,021-acre park offers terrific hiking, camping, swimming, and memorable Maine boating. It is made up of two distinct sections: one up on Mt. Blue itself and the other down alongside Webb Lake. The climb to Mt. Blue’s wooded summit promises spectacular mountain vistas and is a hike not to be missed. But for those looking to have a “wicked” fun water vacation, Webb Lake is your ticket!

The lake has many small inlets that enter all around it, with a largely developed shoreline. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats, or bring your own. Six miles long, Webb Lake is west of Mt.Blue and provides splendid views of the surrounding mountains. The water is accessible via a boat launch site on the west shore in Mt. Blue State Park.

The park’s campground is in the Webb Lake section. A variety of trails connect the boat launch and beach areas to the many different areas comprising the 136 campsites. So don’t worry, there’ll be room for you when you come boating in Maine.
