Warren Island State Park

Penobscot Bay is home to one of the most private and remote of all the Maine State Parks. The 70.4-acre Warren Island State Park was developed exclusively for the boating community.

Whether sea kayaking or canoeing, sailing or motor boating to Warren Island State Park, you’ll be afforded a unique outdoor experience with 10 campsites and two Adirondack lean-to shelters. With no phones or electricity on the island, some will feel like they’re “roughing it.” However, bear in mind that fresh drinking water and privy toilet facilities are available on-site.

Camping on Warren Island is a mixed bag of first-come, first-serve, and “reserveable” campsites and the park is regularly patrolled by park rangers. There is a dock for smaller boats and a limited number of courtesy moorings for larger boats. Carts are provided at the visitor center to assist with hauling your gear to the campsite.

In addition to sea kayaking and camping, Warren Island State Park is a great place to picnic and fish. A self-guided trail covers the island so there’s plenty of opportunity to explore. This mid-coast Maine park is seasonal and open between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
