Snow tubing is a fun and exciting winter experience that the entire family can enjoy together. Maine has two dedicated snow tubing parks, and many ski areas offer tubing as a fun diversion from skiing.

Just buy your ticket, grab your tube rental and go! And with snowmaking at most tubing parks you can always count on plenty of snow.

The Seacoast Snow Park in Windham has a dozen snow tubing lanes and an express lift to the top, so there’s no walking required. Try tubing at night under the lights for a magical experience. Visit Maine’s first tubing park at Oxford Plains Snow Tubing in Oxford, where day or night you can take to the groomed runs built to thrill kids and kids at heart. Parents can enjoy a hot cup of coffee inside the enclosed viewing area, a warm vantage point to comfortably watch the kids play on the slopes.

Mt. Abram in Greenwood boasts the longest tubing park in the state, giving tube riders 1,325 feet of downhill excitement. Black Mountain in Rumford operates a 300-foot handle tow that transports you and your tube up the hill to your choice of three chutes. Big Rock in Mars Hill, the Camden Snow Bowl and Hermon Mountain also have snow tubing parks. Sunday River in Newry offers tubing at the White Cap Fun Center, while Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley has tubing in The Birches three nights a week.

No matter where you go, come prepared to have a blast, and make sure to hold onto your hat or helmet. The snow tubing season typically runs from December through April.
