A national historic landmark, the Katahdin Steamship was built in 1914 by Maine Company, Bath Iron Works. Take a cruise back in time on Moosehead Lake aboard the Kate, our grand lady of Moosehead Lake. 3-hour cruises begin in late June until early October, Tuesday – Saturday. Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and on clear days Mt. Katahdin, Maine’s largest mountain lurks in the distance. This is a leisurely cruise on Moosehead Lake passing by Deer and Sugar Island on route to Mt. Kineo, with narration of the Moosehead Lake region’s history, so bring your camera along, this is a must do trip for everyone to enjoy! The Katahdin offers indoor and outdoor seating. The Steamship package includes 3-hour cruise and one night lodging in our Moosehead Lakeview motel on Indian Hill. Rates are based on double occupancy.
