The Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen

Description

The 2013 Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston.

The Challenge, founded by actor, Maine native and avid cyclist Patrick Dempsey, is an annual international fundraising platform in Lewiston/Auburn, Maine which benefits The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center.

A 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) run/walk and 10-kilometer (6.2) mile run/walk are scheduled for Oct. 12 and cycling rides of 10, 25, 50, 70 and 100-miles are scheduled for Oct. 13.

The free, weekend-long Festival in the Park includes a Health and Wellness Expo, Vendor Fair, KidZone and live entertainment.

Fees

$35 for either 5K or 10K run/walk on Oct. 13 and $75 for one of five cycling rides on Oct. 13. Individuals may participate both days for $100. There is a $150 fundraising minimum per registrant 18 years and over.
