These Maine group tour itineraries were developed to give you suggestions about places to visit while your group is in Maine. These itineraries do not represent a complete list of all the group-friendly businesses in Maine, they are simply some suggestions to consider if you are looking to freshen up your Maine tours. Rangeley Lakes Itinerary
After breakfast, start your day with a moderate hike up Bald Mountain (2–3 hours) for one of Maine’s most spectacular views: a 360 degree panorama of all of the Rangeley Lakes, some of Maine’s highest peaks, as well as New Hampshire’s White Mountains to the southwest.

Two Nation Vacation
Upon arriving in the city of Bangor, take a scenic drive to Bar Harbor and spend an afternoon touring Acadia National Park. The area around Bar Harbor offers many options for exploration.

Ste. Croix & Other Early Maine Settlements
From Boston travel to York, Maine and the Old York Historical Society where costumed guides offer tours of some of Maine’s oldest buildings. A short drive along the coast brings you to Ogunquit where you have time to explore the many art galleries, shops and restaurants, including Perkins Cove.

Kennebec River Valley & Norlands Living History Center
Your port of entry to Maine is Portland, the state’s largest city. A city tour will provide an overview the area and its rich maritime history. Visit the Portland Head Light, Maine’s oldest lighthouse that was commissioned by George Washington, America’s first president.

Maine Coast Itinerary
Start your tour at the Old York Historical Society in York where you may visit seven historical buildings dating back to the mid-1700s. Costumed interpreters provide period programming to help you learn about 18th Century life.

Maine Lighthouse Itinerary
Start your tour with a visit to the “Nubble Light” house sitting on a rocky island a few hundred feet from Cape Neddick in the town of York. Drive up Route 1 to Wells and stop by the Lighthouse Depot, the world’s largest lighthouse gift store. You next stop it to Cape Elizabeth to visit the Fort Williams Park Museum and the Portland Headlight, which was commissioned by George Washington.

Maine Student Tour Itinerary
Start your tour at the Old York Historical Society in York where you may visit seven historical buildings dating back to the mid-1700s. Costumed interpreters provide period programming to help you learn about 18th Century life. Following lunch, students will visit the University of New England’s Marine Science Education and Research Center where they will learn more about marine mammal rehabilitation, aquaculture and aquarium science and environmental education at this Biddeford, ME campus.

Mountains to the Maine Coast Itinerary
Portland, Maine is the state’s largest city and the beginning of your tour. Embark upon a tour that continues to the Maine Wildlife Park where you can see native wildlife in its natural surroundings. Moose, bear, deer, mountain lions, lynx and many other animals can be seen during a leisurely stroll around the park.

Southern & Central Maine Touring Itinerary
Start the day with a tour of Portland, Maine’s largest city, including visits to the childhood home of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, one of America’s most famous poets, and Portland Headlight, the historic lighthouse that was commissioned by George Washington. A short drive to Freeport and you’re at the home of L.L. Bean.
