Real People. Real Advice. It’s the Maine Thing.
Ken & Ellen Barnes
We are Capts Ken and Ellen Barnes and are the owners of the historic Captain Lindsey House Inn in downtown Rockland. We came to Maine in 1976 after several careers in a number of other states as University Professors and private sector business professionals. We were fortunate enough to acquire the Schooner Stephen Taber and spent 25 years sailing Maine's coast with 24 passengers per week. Originally launched in 1871, this is the oldest merchant sailing vessel in continuous service. We both feel that our love of teaching and our people skills have given us the best of both worlds as we continue to relish sharing Maine with all those we encounter. Maine really is "the way life should be" and as insiders we welcome any opportunity to continue to share.
