The Beaches Region
The Beaches Region is a vacation paradise year-round. Breathtaking coastal scenery, broad beaches of pure white sand, and quaint, picturesque New England villages mark the Southern Maine Coast. This Maine includes the historic coastal towns of Kittery, The Yorks, Wells, Ogunquit, The Kennebunks, and Old Orchard Beach. Feast on lobster in the rough or dine at one of the many fine restaurants or inns; explore classic lighthouses, secluded harbors and rocky shorelines, or shop at the Kittery Outlets, antique shops or local boutiques. Four seasons of activities include seasonal festivals, cultural events, historical museums, theater and nightlife. Beautiful sandy beaches, inlets and harbors offer endless opportunities from swimming and sailing to sea kayaking and fishing.
