Grindle Point Lighthouse

Overlooking the entrance to Gilkey Harbor, the light is 54ft. from mean high water. This light guided mariners into Gilkey Harbor, on Islesboro Island. The station features an unusual square brick, pyramidal tower that sits at the state ferry landing here. A Sailors' Memorial Museum, open daily in July and August, is located in the keeper's house.

Grindel Point Lighthouse was built in 1851.
