Kennebec River

This station consists of two white, wooden octagonal towers illuminated by range, reflector lights and a clapboard keeper's house. These cute little lights stand just 13 and 21 feet high respectively and are connected by a wooden walkway. Mariners used them to help navigate the Kennebec River to Bath, once a large shipbuilding center. The grounds are open to the public but a Coast Guard family lives in the keeper's house and asks not to be disturbed. Boat tours are available, however. Kennebec River Light Station was built in 1908.
