The Maine Office of Tourism reserves the right to determine the eligibility of all submissions to the “Share My Maine Memory” marketing program. All text and imagery submitted through the marketing program are subject to complete exclusion or editing as is appropriate to meet marketing objectives. Participation in the marketing program requires that all content and imagery must be rightfully and legally approved for use on VisitMaine.com as user-generated content. This approval includes, but is not limited to unrestricted photography usage rights, unrestricted model releases, and the exclusion of any copyrighted material. It is the responsibility of each individual who submits materials to obtain legal authority to publish the materials submitted. By submitting materials you are agreeing that you have obtained or are entitled to publish the materials as required by law; and further agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the State of Maine and the Maine Office of Tourism from all claims that may result from your submission of materials or the use of the materials by the Maine Office of Tourism. In certain cases, the Maine Office of Tourism may require hard copy releases to be signed before materials can be published on the site.
The Maine Office of Tourism cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information included in the “Share My Vacation Memory” section of VisitMaine.com. Furthermore, the opinions expressed do not reflect the opinions of the Maine Office of Tourism or any official or employee thereof. Any person or entity that relies on any information obtained from this system does so at his or her own risk. The statements in this Disclaimer are in addition to, and supplement, the statements in the VisitMaine.com Privacy Policy.
Photo Contest Rules
Photo contest submissions do not require an entry fee for participation. The entry deadline is March 31, 2011. Entrants must be 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia. Employees and contractors of the Maine Office of Tourism and their advertising and promotion agencies and any individual or company directly associated with this promotion and their immediate family members (spouses, parents and children) are not eligible to participate.
Digital images must be submitted using the online form on VisitMaine.com. Images should be no smaller than 800 by 600 pixels. Panoramic photos are not eligible. Images should be submitted in jpeg (at high quality) or tiff format. File sizes must be less than 8MB per image. Images must be in natural color. Black and white, sepia tone, and duotone images are not eligible.
Photo submissions should have been taken in Maine during the past year. Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo. Late, damaged, or previously published photos are not eligible. Winners will be required to sign a publicity release for all identifiable persons in any photo published as a winner or honorable mention selection.
A panel of judges will identify a group of photo finalists. A public vote will determine the first, second and third place winners who will receive the following prizes: 1) $200 gift card to L.L.Bean, 2) $150 gift card to Kittery Trading Post, and 3) $100 gift card to Cabela’s. No transfer, substitution, or cash value equivalent for any prize is available, except at sole discretion of Sponsor. All federal, state and other taxes, if applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Photo promotions are subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
