  It was our first (and so far, only) trip to Maine and we were delighted with the serenity. My husband, daughter and I stayed in a cabin on First Roach Pond in Kokadjo, and we wandered down to Moosehead Lake frequently. We enjoyed lunch on the dock at Black Frog, a boat tour of Moosehead Lake, and explorations in Baxter State Park. Our other excursions during the week-long stay included Portland Head Light, and of course, moose hunting!

  I have been traveling to Maine since I was a small girl. My family, (+2 dogs) and best friend would take the six hour drive from New York to New Harbor and I remember how anxious I was, bouncing around in the backseat. We usually rented a cottage right on the water and made sure that Shaw's Wharf wasn't too far away. The most vivid memories I have accompany the most incredible smells.
