Description

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Criterion Theatre first opened it's doors on June 6th, 1932. Located in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, this 870-seat, Art Deco gem was used for vaudeville performances during the heydey of the vaudeville circuit, as well as for motion picture exhibition. One very special feature of the Criterion is it's "floating" balcony, one of only a few of it's kind.

With recent renovations and excellent acoustics, the Criterion offers a great line-up of live music and theatre productions, as well as a full scheule of first-run movies.
