Description

This lesser light, at the entrance to Rockport Harbor, is a square brick tower attached to a T-shaped keeper's house. It was discontinued in 1934 and replaced by an automated beacon on nearby Lowell Rock. The Indian Island lighthouse now is privately owned and not open to the public, but it can be seen from the Betselma, which sails from Camden with Penobscot Bay Cruises.

Indian Island Light Station was built in 1850.
