Poland Spring started as a stagecoach stop and then, became a place only for the wealthy. Today, it's for everyone. But it's not a typical hotel. There are 11 different room types, from basic to suites; three inns, all with unique decor; and ten historic cottages. There are lots of activities: a Donald Ross 18-hole golf course; grass tennis courts; bocce; shuffleboard; game rooms; billiards; hiking trails; kayaks; paddle boats; and canoe rentals. Nightly entertainment includes concerts; live bands; musicals; bingo; and dancing. Some of their weekend packages are devoted to specific entertainment - Irish, Country, or '50s rock 'n' roll. Guests can visit the nearby Shaker Village, Maine Wildlife Park and other attractions.
