Description
Maine Huts & Trails currently operates three, backcountry huts/lodges located in the Carrabasett Valley,
Flagstaff Lake and above the banks of the Dead River in western Maine. Users can stay overnight in heated bunk rooms; stays include hot meals and the use of showers and toilets. The backcountry huts sit in remote, scenic areas rich in wildlife. Huts can be reached via The Maine Hut Trail, a year-round trail suitable for all ages and abilities. The trail is designed primarily for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking; biking and canoeing/paddling is encouraged on some sections. Traveling from hut-to-hut is a perfect, year-round family outing.
