The unique stone library, built in 1909 and on the National Registry of Historic Places, houses an extensive collection of books and manuscripts by and about Austrian born psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, who did much of his research in Rangeley. It also contains a significant Maine historical collection focusing largely on the Rangeley Lakes region.
