The Longfellow Chorus performs and records vocal and choral renditions of Portland native Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poetry. The annual Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Choral Festival is a popular, early-March musical weekend featuring numerous singers and musicians. The March 3-5, 2012 Festival will celebrate Longfellow's 205th birthday and will feature: performances by Norwegian concert violinists Arve Tellefsen and Henning Kraggerud; two documentaries about Ole Bull (1810-1880); two rare performances of "Scenes from the Saga of King Olaf," a cantata by Edward Elgar; and winners of our 2012 International Composers Competition.
