Known as a recreational community of seven parks and sports facilities. Pittsfield’s 45-acre Manson Park is home to the historic Central Maine Egg Festival. Located in the downtown, Hathorn Park features a bandstand for summer concerts and Legge’s Field, where Little League games have become legendary. Stein Park in the town center is a showcase for flower gardens bordering the picturesque Mill Pond. Thousands of children have learned to ski at Pinnacle Park Ski Slope. Fendler Park along the Sebasticook River provides over two acres of beautiful views. Golfers pack the nine-hole course at J.W. Parks Golf Course. Recreational enthusiasts utilize the Pittsfield Municipal Airport, which offers flight instruction, maintenance, skydiving, hangers and tie-downs. Snowmobilers traverse the community in season and have access to a statewide trail system maintained by the Pittsfield Driftbusters.

Pittsfield is unique as the only town of its size to operate its own movie theater showing first-run movies daily at reduced rates. The Pittsfield Community Theatre features musical events and plays.

Home to Maine Central Institute, one of the oldest college preparatory schools in New England, Pittsfield hosts an international community. The famous Bossov School of Ballet at MCI trains students from around the world.

Pittsfield remains one of the most community-oriented Towns in Central Maine while providing the conveniences of a small city within a beautiful country setting.
