Description

This program will have two evening programs and one full day of bird-watching. The first evening program will highlight bird songs and calls of species that frequent the area. The next morning the group embarks on an early morning bird walk around camp returning for breakfast. The group will then pack a lunch and carpool to areas of special habitat to locate as many warblers and early spring birds as possible. We will be on the watch for Boreal Birds such as the Boreal Chickadee, Spruce Grouse, Gray Jays and Red Breasted Nuthatches. The group will return to camp around 3 pm to give participants a chance to paddle or hike the local trails before dinner. There will be a happy hour (BYOB) at 5pm and dinner will be served at 6 pm. The evening program will be a picture slide show of "Birds of the North Woods" and a discussion of the day's events. The next morning will be a second morning walk before breakfast. Bring your own bedding and towels as they are not provided. Activities planned for adults and children age 9 and older. Activity level: Easy. Rates include lodging, meals, guided activities, and evening programs.
