Aroostook County

With more than 2,000 lakes, streams and ponds, the vast unspoiled Allagash Wilderness Waterway and the mighty St. John River, Aroostook is a recreational paradise. It’s also home to a diverse mix of welcoming cultures and communities, inviting you to discover the proud “Crown of Maine.”
Maine’s “Million Dollar View,” between Danforth and Orient, affords breathtaking views of Peek-a-boo Mountain and Mt. Katahdin to the west, and magnificent lakes to the east.
