Georgetown, Arrowsic & Phippsburg

Arrowsic

Cloistered between the Sasanoa, Back and Kennebec Rivers, the jagged borders of Arrowsic boasts 4 iconic lighthouses.  For its 500 year-round residents, that means one lighthouse for every 125 people.

Georgetown

Route 127 loops around the islands to the village of Georgetown. Choose a walk through unspoiled trails at Josephine Newman Wildlife Sanctuary  or along the dunes at Reid State Park. Visit Georgetown Pottery for a wide selection of hand-painted porcelain and jewelry. Fresh seafood and stunning views await visitors at The Osprey and Five Islands Lobster Company. Join acclaimed chef, Michael Gagne for a spectacular meal at the historic Robinhood Free Meetinghouse restaurant. Settle in for the night at one of Georgetown's historic B&Bs or rent a seaside cottage and take your time exploring the hidden coves and sandy beaches that grace the area.

Phippsburg

Situated on a jagged peninsula east of Bath, Phippsburg offers visitors several historic sites including the first attempted English settlement in New England at Popham Colony. Walk the slight incline along the nearby path to Fort Baldwin's concrete observation tower for stunning panoramic views of nearby Morse Mountain and the Kennebec River all the way to Casco Bay. Travel the short distance to Fort Popham, Popham Beach, and nearby Popham State Park to enjoy the sandy beach with views of Sequin Island Lighthouse.
