Maine Shrimp Casserole
- 8 slices bread, buttered and cubed
- ½ lb sharp cheese, cut up fine
- 2 cups cooked Maine shrimp
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 2 ½ cups milk (1 can cream of celery soup may be substituted for 1 cup milk)
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Alternate layers of bread cubes, cheese, and shrimp (starting with bread cubes) in a buttered casserole. Beat eggs thoroughly; add milk and salt, and pepper, too (if you wish). Mix well and turn over the contents of casserole.
Bake for 1 hour.
Serves 4 generously.
