Summer Youth Camps

You can help your children appreciate the natural world through one of over 100 summer camps throughout the state. Maine offers more forest than any other state (17 million acres), 3,000 lakes, more than 3,500 miles of rugged coast and beaches, and 32,000 rivers and streams. Third- and fourth-generation directors work with camp professionals to initiate new programs while holding on to the traditions that have made Maine summer camps popular for 100 years.

Maine's summer camps are less than a two-hour flight from such major cities as Baltimore, New York, Newark and Philadelphia. Your choices include traditional camps, sports camps, trip camps, music and art camps, or religiously affiliated camps. Your children can enjoy hiking, rafting, boating, and listening to stories around a campfire. They can also develop independence, gain skills in a sport or activity, and improve social relationships.

For more information about children's summer camps, check the Maine Summer Camps and the Maine Camp Experience websites.
