Monday, March 31, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Maine State Museum, Augusta.
Talk by Mazie Hough and Carol Toner, professors of history at the University of Maine. Event is free of charge.
This free lecture will focus on themes reflected in the Maine Labor Mural currently displayed in the atrium of the Cultural Building. These themes include pre-industrial artisans, women textile workers, labor reformers, and "Rosie the Riveters" the women who worked in defense industries in World War Two. This presentation will flesh out the "voices" of these workers as found in written documents and interviews.
