Two new tours offered jointly by the Maine Birding Trail and the Schoodic Education and Research Center - Aug 19 to 23, and Sept 2 to 6.

Tour guides are Seth Benz, Director of the Schoodic Bird Ecology Lab, and Bob Duchesne, founder of the Maine Birding Trail and author of the trail guidebook.

This tour will spend two nights at the Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC) surrounded by the mainland portion of Acadia National Park. From here, day trips will venture offshore for pelagic birds and whales, and probe the coastline for a great variety of foraging songbirds. Then, headquarters will shift to the Eastland Motel in Lubec for two nights. This motel is so ideally located, it sits within 15 minutes of Quoddy Head State Park, the South Lubec Sand Flats, Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, Maine Coast Heritage Trust trails in the spruce maritime forest, and Canada's Campobello Island.

TBD

Tour fee includes four nights lodging, all meals from lunch on Day One through lunch on Day Five, guides, ground transportation by 15-passenger van, and pelagic boat trip. Souvenirs and alcoholic beverages excluded.

Basic fee is $750 per person, double occupancy. $150 deposit required upon booking; $600 balance due at the end of the tour by check or cash.
