On the Water

On the Water in Maine

It’s impossible to not feel overcome by the majesty of Maine’s shores. On the 7 sandy miles of Old Orchard Beach, you might see a Maine insider like Barry Tripp, surfing the 6-foot-tall waves, and smiling from ear to ear. It’s impossible to not feel overcome by the majesty of Maine’s shores.

On the 7 sandy miles of Old Orchard Beach, you might see a Maine insider like Barry Tripp, surfing the 6-foot-tall waves, and smiling from ear to ear. Those waves may call you too, as soon as you see the excitement they offer.

Up north, you might see the kayakers, gliding through the lakes and rapids along the Allagash River. Perhaps you’ll run into a fun-loving Mainer like Bronwyn Potthoff, and she’ll tell you where you can rent a kayak in the town nearby.

The rushing streams, meandering rivers, and regal shores of Maine beckon at every glimpse.

You might see the magnificent Schooner Mary Day, as she sails out to sea from the harbor of Camden. You might hear the laughter of delight from her passengers, as Captain Barry King tells the tales of the island they’re sailing toward.

The sea will most certainly call you. And the sea captains of Maine will help you answer that call.

The 40-mile-long waters of Moosehead Lake seem calm, but when a beautiful trout soars skyward and dives before you, Moosehead’s call be one of adventure, and discovery. You might be lucky enough to meet a registered guide like Steve Vose, who knows the waters well. Or you may just discover your own path.

The waters of Maine will call you. But how you answer that call, well, that’s up to you.
