Ogunquit Beach

X

TripAdvisor rates Ogunquit Beach as one of the Top 25 Beaches in the United States. This long peninsula of sandy beach and grassy dunes stretches for three and a half miles, forming a natural barrier between the Atlantic Ocean and the Ogunquit River. You can swim, bodysurf, search for shells and driftwood, and rent chairs, umbrellas and floats. This beach has lifeguards.

You can park for a fee in a large lot at the southern end of the beach. Facilities include restrooms, outside showers for rinsing off, and picnic tables. The midsection of Ogunquit Beach is known as Footbridge Beach, which you can access via a footbridge that crosses the Ogunquit River. Lifeguards are on duty in season. You'll find ample parking for a fee, a boat ramp for launching small boats, and restrooms. The far end of Ogunquit Beach is called North Beach, where you'll find restrooms and a large parking area (you'll need to pay a fee to park). A short path leads to the expansive beachfront. You can also take a stroll along Marginal Way—a mile-long cliff walk that extends along the ocean from Perkins Cove to Shore Road near Ogunquit Beach—and pass Marginal Way Lighthouse en route.
