The Colony Beach

Colony Beach, also called Arundel Beach, is a 150-yard stretch of sand and pebble beach at the mouth of the Kennebunk River on Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport, just about a mile south of Dock Square in the heart of the village. At this pocket beach, hemmed in by a breakwater on the right and a jumble of rocks next to the road, you can relax in the sun and enjoy the ocean swimming. The beach has a small gravel parking lot. It has no lifeguard and no facilities. Along the road beyond the beach is a small park with benches where you can watch the sunset. The Parson’s Way shore walk starts here and follows the shoreline for several miles, past Spouting Rock and Blowing Cave to Walker’s Point and beyond.
