Rockland, Bremen and New Harbor

Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

  1. Morning

    Start the day on historic Main Street in downtown Rockland, pick up a cup of locally roasted coffee (Rock City Roasters) and a home baked treat at Atlantic Bakery, voted Best Bread and Best Bakery in Knox County!

  2. Stroll down the block to the Project Puffin Visitor Center featuring a theater, exhibits and gallery.

  3. Noon

    Travel to Bremen. Approximate drive time 30 minutes.

    For a yummy homestyle lunch along the way, stop at the Thomaston Cafe on Main Street in Thomaston.

  4. Afternoon

    Spend the afternoon at Todd Audubon Sanctuary located on the shores of Muscongus Bay. There is a seasonal visitor center and guided interpretive trail walks. The Sanctuary is home to diverse tidal habitats including crabs, mussels, periwinkles and sea stars.

    Travel from Bremen to New Harbor - Approximate drive dime 15 minutes.

  5. Day's End

    Witness the famous Atlantic Puffins on daily Puffin Tours with a National Audubon Project Puffin Guide, in New Harbor. Puffin Watch, Hardy Boat Cruises
