Region: Maine’s Lakes and Mountains
Activities: Hiking, mountain biking, birdwatching, Nordic skiing
Family Friendly
Dogs are not allowed on the farm

Pineland Farms in New Gloucester is a working farm and business campus that offers numerous outdoor recreation opportunities and educational family fun. With over 5,000 acres of woodlands and fields–and 30 kilometers of well-maintained trails ideal for biking, trail running, hiking, snowshoeing or Nordic skiing–Pineland is great for a day outside. Hiking and running are free in the summer and you can get a $5 trail pass for biking. Children 10 and under ride free. Pineland also has bike rentals, including fat tire bikes for winter.

You can also play disc golf on the two immense courses. There are tennis courts and an Olympic-sized Bocce ball court as well!

Activities change seasonally and range from a corn maze and pumpkin patch in the fall, to sledding and skating in the winter. Not all activities are outside! Enjoy candlepin bowling daily – reservations are required.

You can also experience the Family Farmyard. Visit the laying hens and Holstein cows in residence and goats, sheep, pigs and other animals from local farms as well the engaging outdoor play area. Reservations are required for a 2-hour Farm Pass.

Be sure to check their website for information on all activities and don’t forget to pick up a treat in the Farms Market, with sandwiches, fresh produce, Maine-made gifts and much more!
